Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society (BFPE) is a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit organization founded in Serbia in 2003.

For more than fifteen years, we have been providing education and training to political and civil society leaders active in various sectors and engaged in reform processes in Serbia and the wider region. Our main role is to enable the socio-political elite to obtain additional knowledge and skills necessary for both democratic transformation of society and participation in European and Euro-Atlantic structures. The BFPE is dedicated to capacity building and political dialogue among the actors who form, or will in the near future form, the highest-level political and social leadership, aiming to shape a human infrastructure that will solidify ongoing democratization processes, uphold the standards of human and minority rights above short-term political interests, and embody a spirit of regional cooperation and reconciliation with neighbors.

We successfully implemented numerous program activities aimed at institution building and improving the quality of political human capital in Serbia. The BFPE approach to the education and capacity building of the political and social elite aims to increase their curiosity and knowledge, thus strengthening their feeling of social responsibility and encouraging an on-going dialogue among various political parties as well as with representatives of civil society.

As a member in the Network of Schools of Political Studies operating under the auspices of the Council of Europe, the BFPE is active in fostering regional cooperation and partnership with sister institutions in the Western Balkans and Southeast Europe.
