Neven Marinović, director of the Smart Kolektiv and Responsible Business Forum (RBF), was one of the panellists of the discussion “Green accounting in the function of business decarbonization and ESG reporting”, which was held on Saturday, June 17 at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Kragujevac.

Beside Neven Marinović, the panel also hosted Teodora Pasulj, manager in the ESG team of the auditing firm PwC Serbia, Aleksandar Janjušević, head of the Accounting and Auditing Section, Financial System Department, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia, and Marija Pantelić, director of sustainability at Bosis Valjevo. They discussed the role of accounting in the green transition process, non-financial and ESG reporting, carbon accounting and its role in the process of business decarbonization.

The panel was intended for accountants, auditors, controllers, financial analysts and other participants from the branch and was held as part of the scientific conference “Accounting knowledge as a factor of economic and social progress”. The conference gathered 55 authors from five countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, North Macedonia and Serbia – who presented the current results of their theoretical and empirical research in the field of accounting, auditing and business finance. Also, 33 papers were presented, through one plenary and five parallel panels. In addition to the panel on “green accounting”, another green panel entitled “Challenges of the accounting profession in the process of green transition”, which hosted representatives of the academic community was also held. Both green panels, as well as the entire conference, attracted the attention of the public, many organizations, businesses and individuals. Participants of the scientific conference were representatives of the University of Kragujevac, the Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Accountants and Auditors, the Chamber of Auditors and the Ministry of Finance.

The scientific conference was organised by the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Business Finance of the Faculty of Economics, University of Kragujevac. The organization and implementation of the conference was supported by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia.
