Within the initiative named “The first step towards a clean and resistant local community” implemented by the Foundation Grammar School “Veljko Petrović” Sombor, in cooperation with the Association “Humanizacija” and the City of Sombor and supported by GIZ, the first workshop called “Green class” was held in Grammar School in Sombor on Friday, 15th of October.

During this class, students of the Grammar school had the opportunity to hear more about possibilities, concrete examples and ways of recycling available in Sombor and surrounding municipalities, as well as about associations that work in the field of environmental protection. The plan is to organize Green classes in each high school within the territory of the City of Sombor.

On behalf of the local self-government, Assistant Mayor for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection, Siniša Borota, addressed the students on the topics of cooperation between the City of Sombor and civil society organizations and involvement of citizens in various environmental protection projects.

The Initiative “The first step towards a clean and resistant local community” is part of the “Public Finance Reform – 2030 Agenda” project, supported by the governments of Switzerland and Germany and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
