A two-day training was held on September 29 and 30, 2021 for the representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs) from Zajecar District on the topic Localization of SDGs.

The training was attended by the representatives of the Association “Rime”, the Center for Pregnant Women, Parents and Kids “TRK”, Association supporting people with Cerebral Palsy and Polio, Youth of Jazas, Association Center for Roma, Timok Youth Association and Iskorak Foundation.

During the training, the participants gained knowledge on the local development planning process in Zajecar in the context of SDGs implementation. They successfully mapped the challenges related to the first five SDGs related to the social dimension of sustainability, linked them with the activities of their respective organizations and identified advocacy initiatives to improve the existing strategic framework in Zajecar. A particular focus of the training was on the issue of gender component in the local development policies, including in the Local development plan.

The participants were also presented with the open call to participate in a training and mentoring program for local campaigns. Through the open public call, the Social Pillar of the “SDGs for ALL Platform” will support the implementation of three local advocacy campaigns for achieving the SDGs in the Zajecar district.
