On Thursday, October 1, 2020, the Responsible Business Forum and Smart Kolektiv organized a webinar “TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS – Why and how to do business in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals?”. Webinar was intended for the representatives of companies of all sizes.

The webinar aimed to present the connection between the Sustainable Development Goals and everyday business, and encourage representatives of the business sector to integrate sustainable development issues into business planning and reporting, which are at the same time sustainable business issues.

In the introductory part of the webinar, Neven Marinovic, Executive Director of the Responsible Business Forum, briefly presented why decision makers in the business sector should familiarize themselves with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as  with the tools available to the companies for planning and reporting.

Marina Savić, corporate communications manager at the regional company Atlantic group, and Marija Pantelić, human resources manager at Bosis from Valjevo, spoke about practical examples of aligning SDGs with the business practices of their respective companies. Both participants stressed the importance of commitment to the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda and to the promotion of its values among the employees in the everyday company life.

The webinar “TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS – Why and how to do business in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals?“ was organized by Responsible Business Forum Serbia and Smart Kolektiv within “SDGs for All” Platform that has been supported by the Swiss and German Governments and is being implemented by the German organization for international cooperation – GIZ. Partners are Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac, Center for Advanced Economic Studies, Belgrade Open School, Center for Democracy Foundation, Timok Youth Center and the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence.

Technical support to the project by the Smart Kolektiv is aimed at strengthening the capacities of companies and harmonizing their business practices with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The “SDGs for All” Platform implies the establishment of a platform for public dialogue on aligning Serbia’s development priorities with the goals sustainable development among the most important non-state actors in Serbia, such as civil society, corporate sector, academic and research community, professional associations, media and citizens.
