The objective of the webinar organized by the social pillar of the “SDGs for All” Platform was to initiate a dialog among the most important social actors and institutions about the gender equality issues, with particular focus on the current conditions related to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Carefully selected  panelists representing diverse perspectives on the topics were Prof Dr. Slavica Đukić Dejanović, Minister without portfolio responsible for demography and population policy, Milana Rikanović, Head of Office & Gender Specialist, UN Women Serbia, Sanja Nikolin entrepreneur, and activist, and Jelena Ružić, the president of the Women Association of the Kolubara County.

The interesting debate developed around the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on the gender equality issues in the Republic of Serbia as well as on the measures taken by GoS to improve gender equality. A special attention was dedicated to the challenges that various social groups have been facing in the area of gender equality and from the perspective of “Leave No One Behind” principle.

The webinar “Gender Equality and Sustainable Development – Where is the Link?” was organized as the “SDGs for All” Platform that has been supported by the Swiss and German Governments and is being implemented by the German organization for international cooperation – GIZ, within the project “Public Finance Reform – 2030 Agenda”. The Platform is directly coordinated by six prominent Serbian civil society organizations organized in three pillars: Social Pillar – Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac, and Foundation Center for Democracy; Economic Pillar – CEVES and TOC; and Environmental Pillar – BOS and BFPE.
