Monitoring progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is an important aspect of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. A solid factual basis is crucial for planning, decision-making and further improvement of policies that lead to the realization of these global goals.

As the only state institution in Serbia that measures and monitors the progress made towards the achievement of the SDGs, the Statistical Office published its fourth Progress report on the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 in the Republic of Serbia, 2023, with the support of the governments of Germany and Switzerland within the Public Finance Reform – 2030 Agenda project, and the United Nations in Serbia.

This year’s progress report is based on the official data of the Statistical Office of Serbia (October 2023 database), posted on their SDG portal Home » | SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS. Out of 248 global indicators, this year report includes 135 indicators within 17 SDGs monitored for the Republic of Serbia, which is 12 indicators more compared to the previous report. The report also reveals that 49,7 percent of the monitored indicators show a positive trend towards meeting the SDGs.
