At a recent guest lecture at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade, Neven Marinović, the director of Smart Kolektiv and the Responsible Business Forum, presented key concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), with a special focus on impact of Environmental, Social and Governance standards (ESG) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the context of the market and communications. The lecture took place on January 18, as part of the course on Socially Responsible Marketing, at the invitation of Professor Tamara Vlastelica.

Master’s students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest trends and current solutions in the field of socially responsible business, with a specific emphasis on ESG/SDGs factors that are increasingly considered by companies in managing their operations, and by investors when making investment decisions. Why these factors are crucial for modern business, how they are applied, and the specific challenges they pose for communication were some of the segments covered in this lecture. Students had an opportunity to hear about the progress of the integration of SDGs and ESG practices into business taking into account the national context and the impact of EU policies, as well as to identify the current and upcoming impact of national policies and regulations that have the goal of encouraging sustainable development.

A special part of the lecture was dedicated to presenting the efforts of the SDG for All Platform in supporting the alignment of Serbia’s development goals with the targets outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
