Social Pillar organized  a round table in Zaječar on the subject of contribution of gender equality to sustainable development, on June 2. At the round table, Sarita Bradaš, a researcher from the Center for Democracy Foundation, presented the results of the recent analysis on the integration of gender perspective  into local policies in Zaječar. The representative of the Commission for Gender Equality, Biljana Ilić mapped out some key challenges and possible solutions for achieving gender equality in Zaječar. The recently adopted local gender equality plan was also presented at the event. Participants agreed on the necessity to work on improvement of  a local strategic framework, but also emphasized that t the implementation of local policies poses an even greater challenge.

The round table was also attended by the representatives of the Office for local and economic development, local administration, schools, the center for social work and local civil society organizations.
