The first volunteer workshop within the program “Inclusion in Action” was held on March 20 in Čajetina, as part of the project “Green Initiative for the Local Community” implemented by the Zlatiborski Krug Association. This program is being carried out in cooperation with the Daycare Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities “Zračak” in Čajetina, and is led by Snežana Tučić, a biology teacher and coordinator of the Ecology Club at the Čajetina primary school.
In line with the principles of social inclusion as a key pillar of sustainable development, Zlatiborski Krug has designed a series of three interactive workshops, bringing together beneficiaries of the “Zračak” Daycare Center and young volunteers — eighth-grade students from the Ecology Club at “Dimitrije Tucović” Primary School in Čajetina. The workshops are intended to foster volunteerism in the field of environmental protection and to encourage the use of innovative, participatory methods for identifying environmental challenges and developing creative, community-based solutions aimed at reducing the impacts of climate change.
According to project coordinator Zorica Milosavljević, the first workshop was held in a relaxed and creative atmosphere. Participants discussed various activities they could implement to protect the environment and jointly created a poster titled “Environmental Etiquette.”
The final two workshops are planned for late March and April.
