Representatives of the Social Pillar of the Platform took part in the Local Economic Development Network meeting, organized by the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) on October 29, 2024. The meeting gathered over 70 participants and covered topics such as cooperation between local self-governments and the Ministry of Economy, local tourism development, as well as women’s entrepreneurship and youth employment.
Ivona Gvozdenović, Project Manager at the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, presented the activities of the Social Pillar of the Platform at the local level. Her presentation highlighted the conclusions from two inter-municipal events, models of inter-municipal exchange and learning, and activities aimed at the economic empowerment of women and support for local self-governments (LSGs) in gathering data on the needs of the most vulnerable groups in the community for better local socio-economic development planning. This social mapping process is being carried out by the Social Pillar of the Platform in five municipalities across Serbia.
Members of the Local Economic Development Network agreed on the importance of initiating actions such as organizing round tables on social and women’s entrepreneurship.
