The first workshop in the training program on sustainable development for senior grade students of the “Dimitrije Tucović” elementary school in Čajetina, as part of the Green Initiative for the Local Community project implemented by the Zlatiborski Krug Association, was held on October 15th on Zlatibor, at a department of this school.

The goal of the training was to empower educational institutions to implement volunteer and extracurricular activities that contribute to reducing the negative impacts of climate change, in line with environmental protection and the goals of sustainable development.

The training involves 16 students who, through three half-day interactive workshops, gained experience and new knowledge to share with their younger friends through peer education and volunteer activities.

The topic of the first workshop was the ecological footprint calculation, environmental debt, and the causes of climate change. According to the project coordinator Zorica Milosavljević, the participants were active, interested, and creative in their work.
